This week, February 23-27, Kearney School District is proud to join communities across the country in recognizing Public Schools Week 2026!

Public schools are at the heart of strong communities, and that is certainly true here in KSD.

Every day, our schools do far more than deliver lessons. KSD helps create a community where families want to live, students are supported, and young people are prepared for what comes next. From early learning to graduation, our staff works to help each student grow academically, socially and emotionally while building the knowledge, skills and experiences they need for life beyond high school.

Public schools also bring people together. KSD classrooms, activities, arts programs, athletic events, and community partnerships help connect families, businesses, civic organizations and neighbors in meaningful ways. Those connections make our entire community stronger.

We are grateful for the teachers, support staff, administrators, Board of Education members, families and community partners who make this work possible. Public education is a shared commitment, and our community’s support plays an important role in helping KSD students succeed.

As we celebrate Public Schools Week, we also celebrate the people of KSD who continue to invest in our schools and in the future of this community.

When our public schools are strong, our entire community is strong.
