A Bulldog Thank You to Our KSD Officers!

Today, Kearney School District is proud to join schools across the country in recognizing National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, which is marked every year on Feb. 15. This day was established by the National Association of School Resource Officers to celebrate the unique role these team members play in supporting students and keeping schools safe.
In KSD, we are especially grateful for School Resource Officer Cameron Philip and School Protection Officer Adam Kirkland. Their work goes well beyond “security.” They help build relationships with students and staff, serve as steady, trusted adults in our buildings, and strengthen the connection between young people and law enforcement through a presence that’s visible, approachable and supportive. Whether they’re providing guidance in the moment, helping educate students about safety and good decision-making, or responding when situations require it, they show up every day with professionalism, care and a commitment to our school community.
Please join us in thanking Officer Philip and Officer Kirkland for the many ways they contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for learning, and for the calm, reassuring impact they have on our students, staff and families. If you see them, a quick word of appreciation goes a long way!
