Ten team members selected for Academic All-State honors
Kearney, Mo., January 18, 2023: The Kearney High School volleyball team has demonstrated that they know how to perform well against their opponents and in academics.
Ten KHS team members have been selected for Academic All-State honors following their fall 2022 season, according to Head Coach Brandy Tanner. These student-athletes maintained a cummulative grade-point-average (GPA) of at least 3.6 and played at least 75 percent of the Varsity games:

Carlee Clawson
Mallory Jury
Brook Llewellyn
Kate Martens
Moira Olberding
Alli Poage
Kylie Walker
Claire Woehrman
Ella Wolters
The Varsity team earned an overall 3.8 GPA. The C team had a 3.9 GPA and the Junior Varsity team had a 3.7 GPA. In addition, KHS volleyball players Mallory Jury, Madison Browning, Jane Martens, Mia Handy, Ruby Canales, Avery Janiak and Addison Taylor all eaned perfect 4.0 GPAs.
“I’m so proud of all of our girls for working hard to be successful in their classes,” Coach Tanner said. “Their commitment to academics reflects their attitude as a team.”
