Inclement Weather Communications

To help families prepare for inclement weather situations, we want to share information about our communication procedures when it comes to school cancellations, late starts and early dismissals. Once the change in schedule has been made, KSD wants to get the word out to KSD families and the public as quickly as possible. Here are the different ways we will communicate the information:

  • First, School Messenger notifications will be sent via call, email, text, and the district app. Note: If the decision is made between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the district will send email, text and app notifications only. We will wait until after 6:00 a.m. to send phone calls in order to be courteous to families.
  • District websites
  • Facebook and Twitter 
  • Local news outlets

IMPORTANT NOTE: To receive text notifications, you must opt in. To opt in, text the word “Yes” to the number 67587. Click here for more information.
